Ideas for Wikis

Page history last edited by huio 15 years, 7 months ago

I thought about using wiki as a repository of internal documents, like some departments in our main library did. However, I am afraid it may be static with the small staff size of our department.

I want to use a Wiki at Cass as a place to story most of the documents that are used by and shared between the library staff. I would like the wiki to include a blog component that can be used as a discussion board for discussing issues, best practices, programming ideas, etc.

For the moment I can not think of a public use of a wiki that fits our circumstances, but an internal wiki has a lot of possibilities. I can see this as a repository for internal documents that detail how we do our jobs; a reference for the front desk describing our operating procedures; and possibly an internal FAQ.

I'm with Seth on this one. Acceptable use policies could be on a wiki and any of those important documents that have to be edited all the time for one reason or another. With a wiki, we could keep track of all those changes and know when the change was made.
